GHH-Bonatrans

GHH-BONATRANS is a group that emerged from the merger of BONATRANS and GHH-RADSATZ in 2014. The group supplies a full range of products including wheelsets, wheels, axles, spare parts, noise absorbers, and services. It has a history of more than 200 years in the railway industry.

The history of both BONATRANS and GHH-RADSATZ has been marked by major technological breakthroughs and business achievements. The merger of the two companies to create GHH-BONATRANS in 2014 generated an opportunity for future growth. BONATRANS milestones include the establishment of the ZDB Wheelset Division in 1965, first deliveries for passenger transport in 1970, first locomotive wheels for 200 km/h in 1975, first deliveries to Western Europe in 1977, certification by Deutsche Bahn in 1991, first deliveries to Asia in 1992, and creation of a dedicated design department in 1994. GHH-RADSATZ milestones include the founding of Huttengewerkschaft und Handlung Jacobi, Haniel und Huyssen (JHH) in 1782, Antonihütte producing first wheelsets in 1808, industrialized manufacturing of wheelsets started in Sterkrade in 1845, establishment of Gutehoffnungshütte in 1873, wheelset factory established in Oberhausen in 1899, worldwide export through GHH trading partnerships in 1910, and the first resilient wheel in 1932.
