Garaga

Garaga, founded in 1983, is a family-owned business that designs and manufactures garage doors and related hardware systems for residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial markets. Its products are sold throughout Canada, the United States, Central and South America.

Garaga was founded in 1983 when Michel Gendreau, at age 26, purchased the assets of a garage door manufacturing company in Saint-Georges, Quebec, Canada. The first product was a lightly insulated aluminum garage door in six colors. In 1986, Garaga invested $1.2 million in a new plant. In 1990, it launched its own hardware production line. In 1991, it landed a $2.5-million contract for insulated panels for the Manic-5 dam. In 1993, it launched its first steel doors. In 1995, it expanded markets and launched the Garaga Experts Network.
