Centro di ricerche per la storia dell’Alto Lazio

The Centro di ricerche per la storia dell’Alto Lazio (CERSAL) is an association included in the register of cultural institutes recognized by the Lazio Region (L.R. 24/2019). Its main activities include the conservation and valorization of archival and bibliographic documentation, the creation of a specialized library, research on the social and religious history of the Tuscia, partnerships with the University of Tuscia and cultural institutes, and high-level dissemination of ongoing research. Since 2008, it has organized monthly 'Incontri a Palazzo papale' in collaboration with the Centro diocesano di documentazione per la storia e la cultura religiosa di Viterbo.

The CERSAL was born with the fundamental objective of ordering and valorizing the local historical archives of central Italy, and studying the social and religious history of the territory north of Rome. Since its birth, it has pursued the goal of a specialized library on the social and religious history of Alto Lazio. It has collaborated with the Faculty of Conservation of Cultural Heritage of the University of Tuscia for educational and training internships. Since 2008, in collaboration with the Centro diocesano di documentazione per la storia e la cultura religiosa di Viterbo, it has organized monthly 'Incontri a Palazzo papale' to present the results of historical research on the Tuscia territory.
