History
Brunsviga's technical ancestry lay in the arithmometer developed by Willgodt Theophil Odhner, a Swedish engineer who worked in Russia. Odhner sought to simplify earlier Thomas arithmometers by replacing their transmission arrangement with a pinwheel mechanism. Olympia later produced the Spanish-made RT4 in 1970–1971 in a limited quantity, but ended mechanical calculating-machine production altogether in 1972.
