Bernell Corporation, established in 1954 by Dr. Bernard Vodnoy and his wife Elsye, serves the ophthalmic community by developing and marketing unique solutions for vision care. The company sells over 2,000 ophthalmic products to optometrists, ophthalmologists, occupational therapists, schools, and government worldwide. It offers a wide range of products for primary care and vision testing, as well as the largest line of vision therapy, visual rehabilitation, and behavioral optometry products in the world. Bernell is a division of Vision Training Products, Inc.

Bernell Corporation was established in 1954 by Dr. Bernard Vodnoy and his wife Elsye. It began in Dr. Vodnoy's woodshop, where he crafted vision training devices for patient therapy. After Dr. Vodnoy's retirement in the 1980s, the company was sold to new owners who expanded the brand but faced financial difficulties in the mid-1990s. In 1997, optometrist Craig Andrews OD and his wife Judy invested their life savings to rescue the company, with guidance from Dr. Charles Shearer and leadership of Al Martin, VP of Operations.
