It was formally established in June 2005, with its headquarters in Shenzhen, Guangdong. The company's core team entered the satellite positioning monitoring industry in 1998. Shenzhen Yuwei Information Technology Development Co., Ltd. was formally established in June 2005. In 2008, it provided vehicle monitoring for the Olympic Games Organizing Committee, and in 2010 for the World Expo Organizing Committee. In 2013, the Wuhan R&D center was established.
