VinFast VF 7

The VinFast VF 7 is an electric compact crossover SUV (C-segment) manufactured and marketed by VinFast of Vingroup.

Overview

The VF 7 was first introduced to the public in January 2022 along with the VF 5 and VF 6 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).[2][3] It was designed by Lee Jae Hoon, a senior exterior designer for General Motors.[4] VinFast launched a pre-order campaign for the VF 7 from 2-30 December 2022 in the local Vietnamese market,[5] with the first deliveries to domestic customers on March 30, 2024.[6]

Features and Equipment

The VF 7 is equipped with a range of features typically found in mid-size EVs in its segment. These include a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a heads-up display, wireless smartphone charging, ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof.[12] Safety and driver-assistance technologies include Level 2 ADAS, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, and a 360-degree camera system. The vehicle comes standard with eight airbags and electronic stability control.[13][14]

Variants and Specifications

The VinFast VF 7 is offered in two primary trims: a front-wheel-drive (FWD) variant with a single electric motor, and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) version with dual motors. Both variants are powered by a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, with capacity slightly varying by market.[15][16][17]

In its home market of Vietnam, the VF 7 recorded deliveries of 773 units in May 2025. While specific year-to-date sales data for the model is limited, reports indicate that the VF 7 trails behind other VinFast models such as the VF 3 and VF 5 in domestic sales volumes. In India, the launch was postponed to mid-August 2025 due to distribution and logistical challenges.[18][19] The company revised its annual sales target for the VF 7 to 3,000 units in India.[20]
