Mang Inasal Philippines, Inc., or simply Mang Inasal (Hiligaynon for "Mr. Barbecue"), is a barbecue fast food restaurant chain in the Philippines established on December 12, 2003, in Iloilo City. It is one of the most popular fast food chains in the Philippines, known for serving chicken inasal (grilled chicken) and for introducing unli-rice (unlimited rice) to Philippine restaurant culture.[1]
History
Mang Inasal was started by Edgar "Injap" Sia II, who owned his first business at the age of twenty.[2] Sia engaged in the food business at twenty-six years of age, opening the first Mang Inasal branch on December 12, 2003, at the Carpark Building of Robinsons Place Iloilo in downtown Iloilo City.[2] The restaurant was an instant success, despite stiff competition from other established grilled-food restaurants.
