Dewan Farooque Motors Limited is a Pakistani automobile importer and manufacturer based in Karachi.
History
Dewan Farooque Motors Company Limited was incorporated in December 1998 by Dewan Yousuf Farooqui to assemble Hyundai and Kia vehicles in Pakistan.[2] This followed an earlier introduction of Kia cars in 1994 by Naya Daur Motors, which reportedly collected around Rs 800 million in booking fees from approximately 16,000 customers but delivered only a limited number of vehicles before its collapse.[2]
Dewan Farooque Motors established a manufacturing facility in Sujawal, Sindh, at a cost of PKR 1.8 billion.[2] Completed in about seven months, it was among the first automotive plants in the country to employ robotic paint systems.[2]
