Dalata Hotel Group plc is a hotel company based in Dublin, Ireland that owns and operates hotels across Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, mainly under the brands Maldron Hotels and Clayton Hotels. As of mid-2025, the group was operating 55 hotels.
History
Dalata Hotel Group was founded in July 2007 by Pat McCann, former chief executive of the Jurys Doyle Hotel Group.[1] The company made its initial public offering in 2014.[2]
A major expansion occurred in 2014 when Dalata purchased nine of the ten hotels of the Moran Bewleys Hotel Group which were subsequently rebranded to the Maldron or Clayton brands.[3] The Clayton brand name also comes from an originally independent hotel acquired in Galway in 2014.[4]
